At a very young age I felt a strong connection to music. It was pure bliss to drift away into another world where every feeling and thought was expressed solely through lyric, melody and dance. My first official performance was on Halloween in a small town in Colombia where my Grandparents are from. I sang “A Whole New World” from the movie Aladdin, a song that was very close to my heart, in front of the whole town. Even though, I was only four, I knew the power music held in the world, and the power it had in me. I was determined to contribute to this incredible source. In my heart, there was nothing more beautiful than music.

My strongest music influences range from a variety of artists. However, over the years I have come to realize that those who truly leave footprints in my heart are those who have given something back to society. I respect those who are selfless and stand up for something and put their time into making that cause known. Soraya, Green Day, Shakira, The Beatles, are just some I can think off the top of my head now.

My creative process is very unpredictable. At times, it is free flowing, and all I have to do is catch the words at the right time. This is usually the case while enduring a broken heart. Everything is pouring out and all you have to do, is grab a pen and paper, and the rest just happens. Other times, like on ordinary days, when my heart is intact and I am feeling pretty content, I try to be more mindful and look for inspiration in other places.. I am very lucky to have my sister ,not only supporting me but also assisting in the songwriting process, because she has a natural ability to write lyrically in both english and spanish. When I am in lack of words, she’s there to save the day, We make an awesome team!

My plan is to perform as much as possible. With school and other matters taking place, I am determined not to go anywhere but forward with my music. I am uploading videos of myself singing covers and originals onto youtube on a bi-weekly basis and also performing at different venues through-out the area. I would love to form official cover bands for the Beatles, and classic latin music. Songwriting is also very important to me, so writing songs in english and spanish, and recording a demo is definitely in the near future! – My dream is to perform around the world and use my influence to spread a message of love, hope and respect, through not only my songs but also my actions. As a student majoring in political science, I have come to understand how vital it is to have our voices heard, especially when injustices are being committed. What better way to do it than through song?
